Executive Vice President, Business Development
Innovara, Inc.

As Executive Vice President of Innovara’s Business Development effort, Margot combines her unique background as former pharmaceutical and medical device executive with her years of capital market experience to help companies identify and connect with appropriate institutional investors, bankers, and strategic partners. Having catered to institutional investors of all market cap interests, in the US and abroad, she can coach companies about their investment message and appropriate audience.  She applies evaluation and strategic business management skills from varied therapeutic markets to both the partnering and the investment selection process.  She leverages her extensive investor and corporate client relationships to provide technology search, license negotiation, corporate strategy, and investor/banking introductions to several clients in the pharmaceutical/biotech/ medical device industry.

Margot was the former Director of Healthcare Equity Strategy at Citi, managing a global healthcare strategy team that identified fundamental and derivative trading opportunities based on Citi research, market expectations, and risk/reward analysis and was the pivot point between research, trading, sales, banking, and healthcare institutional investors.  She created and produced the institutional daily healthcare brief called The Daily Dose as well as the more comprehensive quarterly Vital Signs publication which encapsulated expected events across the healthcare industry. She organized and moderated product and theme specific physician panel events for institutional investors at various medical meetings including the comprehensive “Clinic at the Clinic” event at the Cleveland Clinic, which was widely attended by the Street. She has coached numerous executive teams for deal and non-deal road show meetings.

Prior to that, she was the Vice President of Healthcare Equity Strategy at Smith Barney, responsible for asset allocation within the healthcare sector for high net worth and private clients and was the originator of healthcare unit trust fund products. In this role, she was a national public speaker for Smith Barney co-sponsored events such as the Susan B. Komen Foundation, American Heart Association, and other public investment forums. She also authored : “Endangered Species” (2001) an investment piece designed to direct assets away from the pharma sector prior to the main impact of generic erosion and “Dancing on a Fault Line” (2003) which suggested a more diversified and global strategy for healthcare investing due to pricing pressures, pipeline deficiencies, and politics.

Prior to the financial industry, Margot held various roles in the medical industry in marketing, product management        ( infectious disease), sales, business development (stem cells), and medical advertising at Abbott Laboratories, the New York Blood Center, and SJ Weinstein Advertising Associates. She has launched over 40 products in her career.
